Styling for your photo shoot shouldn't cause you stress or worry, or spending lots of money on new outfits - however, you want to love your images and if you are planning on putting these on the wall you don't want to be distracted by any bright or overly patterned clothing. Therefore, I've put together a few hints and tips to help guide you and to get you thinking about how you want your images to look, and ultimately feel, when you look at your images.
1. Be comfortable yet stylish!
My studio sessions are there to capture expressions, connections and fun, so keep the styling simple. Denim with a white top works so well with this backdrop, or a denim shirt with black leggings, and usually everyone has these staple items in their wardrobes. |
2. Things to avoid
It is best to avoid branding, big patterns and logos as these really distract the eye. Please avoid shirts with collars if you have a little baby as this will hide their face. Babies in baby-grows will suffice - the footless ones are always a preference but not essential. A nappy cover is helpful if we do some skin shots and a white blanket is nice for little ones to sit on - especially the personal ones knitted by Granny or Great Aunty! |
3. It's all in the detail
If you can remove watches and leave mobile phones on the side (not in pockets!) this this will help avoid distracting objects. Also, we are bare foot so please make sure toes are looking pretty, along with your hands, as hands may be seen in close up shots. Please make sure little faces and noses are wiped and feel free to bring along a brush. Mum's do make sure you have some powder and lip balm! The photo shoot takes place at my home and the address is 28 Sunnybank, Marlow, Bucks, SL7 3BL, with free easy parking outside. If you have any trouble finding it please just call me on 07752 363 052.
After the photo shoot I will edit the images in both colour and black and white and will then text you a password to be able to access the online gallery, which will be emailed as a link for you to click into.
You can then select the five images you would like as prints and matching digitals, but if you fall in love with your gallery you can purchase additional digitals for £30 each or the whole gallery for £99. For more details on additional prints and framing, please see the My Products page on the website. |
